Jesus: History and Salvation

1. The History of Jesus

Jesus of Nazareth was born over 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem.

His birth was miraculous born to Mary, a virgin, by the power of the Holy Spirit. His coming had been prophesied for thousands of years in the Old Testament.

He grew up in a small town called Nazareth, living a simple life as a carpenter. At age 30, He began His public ministry:

  • • He healed the sick.
  • • He opened blind eyes.
  • • He raised the dead.
  • • He cast out demons.
  • • He taught with authority no one had ever heard before.
  • • He showed compassion to the broken, rejected, and sinful.

Thousands followed Him. But many religious leaders became jealous and hated Him.

Even though He was innocent, Jesus was arrested, beaten, mocked, and sentenced to die.

2. The Cross

Jesus was nailed to a wooden cross.

He did not die because people were stronger than Him.

He died because He chose to.

Why?

Because every human is separated from God by sin. No amount of good works can fix that.

So Jesus stepped in.

  • • He took our punishment.
  • • He carried our guilt.
  • • He paid our debt.
  • • He died the death we deserved.

His last words were, "It is finished."

Meaning the price for salvation was fully paid.

3. The Resurrection

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead not as a spirit, but physically and fully alive.

Over 500 people saw Him after He resurrected.

The resurrection proved:

  • • Jesus is the Son of God.
  • • Death has no power over Him.
  • • His sacrifice was accepted by God.
  • • Salvation is real, eternal, and unstoppable.

4. What Salvation Means

Salvation is not something you earn.

It is a gift from God through Jesus Christ.

Salvation means:

  • • Your sins are forgiven.
  • • You become a child of God.
  • • You receive eternal life.
  • • You are no longer separated from God.
  • • You have a new heart, new purpose, new life.
  • • The Holy Spirit lives inside you.

Salvation is not religion. It is relationship.

Not rules but grace.

Not fear but freedom.

5. How Salvation Works

The Bible says:

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved."
— Acts 16:31

Salvation comes when you:

  • • Believe Jesus is the Son of God.
  • • Believe He died for your sins.
  • • Believe He rose from the dead.
  • • Receive Him as your Lord and Savior.

It is that simple because Jesus already did the hard part.

6. A Short Salvation Prayer

"Lord Jesus,

I believe You are the Son of God.

I believe You died for my sins and rose again.

Forgive me, save me, and make me new.

I receive You as my Lord and my Savior.

Thank You for loving me.

Amen."
